Author Topic: EDIT: I got the Job!!! Interviewed today for position in the OR (Read 5317 times)

Well I interviewed this afternoon for the supervisor position I have been doing for the last several months in the Operating Room. It's so Odd, I am horrible being interviewed but I can come across as a genius in regular conversation. The questions were based on the direction I have been taking the position and the outlook I have for providing leadership to my staff and I have to tell you, I was so nervous, it was a panel of three interviewers and me. I had to keep asking them to repeat the questions as I started answering because I was so nervous I would forget what I was answering. They said I did really good in the interview in spite of being so nervous. There is one other person who will interview tomorrow. I will know next week if I have the job or not.
I hate waiting

Best wishes Sean. It's too bad that they put so much importance on an interview. If they could just spend some time with you and let them walk around with you chatting, it would be so much easier.

Good luck Sean. I too always did horribly in oral interviews for promotions due to nerves. I was strange because I had no problem speaking to large groups.

my wifes dad is a brain doctor, her brother a doctor and her uncles are the knocker outers ( cant spell the real names, that is why I am a Jet Mechanic)

, her mom and grandma are nurses in ICU they have all told me that those boards with the interviewers are tough. Good luck

Good luck, Sean! Maybe if they did notice your nervousness, they would correlate that to how much you value your work and see that as a good thing.

Hey all, I just wanted to thank everyone for the good thoughts!
I am happy to announce I am the newest Senior Perioperative Assistant in the Operating Room of Canada's largest hospital.

It was made official today and apparently I not only did good on my interview but I did amazingly well. I should learn not to second guess myself.

Thanks again everyone for the support while I waited almost a week for the news.

Yes, 0700 - 1500 Monday to Friday weekends off. No more Graveyard shifts
