My Victoria longwood is putting out a new leaf about every day now. The leaves are about as big as a hula hoop.

wow, I wish I could grow one, I have problems just with the tropicals, my water temps are not always the warmest.  Last year was so chilly none of them bloomed, this year is better I have gotten a bloom on my Red Cup and have a bud on one of the others

Marla the whole pond is 15 inches deep. So the vic is not deep. And I will have to trim old leaves and move some lilies and get rid of some water hyicenths

Go girl go!  @O@   You've got a good year for Victoria and for Euryales Ferox with this summer's heat. This will be a summer to be proud of as well as to remember, even if you can have a repeat performance every year!  Hopefully you will get a bloom from your Longwood before too long. It is exciting when you see the bud and then watch it get bigger. Then when it breaks surface you will run look every 30 minutes to see if it has started opening. You won't want to miss a moment of it as it is spectacular to watch!  @O@  :2thumbs:  :victory: :woot: @O@

Sometimes they take their jolly time about blooming but once they start they really go for it. The first year I grew mine I had three plants, one of which started blooming mid-July while the other two didn't get started until mid-August. All the plants were sprouted at the same time.
Anyway hopefully it will start blooming for you soon. It's such a wonderful experience when it happens. The scent is amazing and fills the entire garden and of course the blooms are just gorgeous. Sending good blooming thoughts your way!
