My grandson
« on: July 23, 2010, 08:09:31 AM »
We are excited! Our oldest grandson is going to play in the Dixie Youth World Series in the 11-12 year old age bracket. His All-star team from Greenbrier, TN won second in the state tournament for TN, so as state runners-up they still get to play in the World Series. Cole is the only 11 year old on the team. Some of the 12 year olds have already turned 13, so he is the youngest on his team. There are 12 states with their champions playing in the tournament, and 4 state runners up playing, making a total of 16 teams.
For a pic, and the newspaper article, go to- http://www.tennessean.com/article/20100721/ROBERTSON02/100719074/Greenbrier-All-Stars-headed-to-World-Series
Even if they lose out, just to be there playing is an honor. Only 16 teams out of 12 states get to go!
