WOW! That is really neat. To get to be visited by a yellow, red and blue is neat enough but all three in the same photo is really something.

That's a beautiful picture--all three at once?!  I'm so jealous I'm (nearly) speechless!!  So cool!   8)

I'm jealous too. My water flow is too strong for the birds.

Man, all we have here in Houston are chickadees and pigeons.  :(   You are really lucky!

Put me on the list of jealous people too! I get mostly sparrows and mourning doves, with the occasional goldfinch.

Hummm... just down the road from Loony so pretty much the same birds here in Dayton. I guess with the cold winters you have to endure your reward is those awesome colored birds. Nice photo.

Beautiful shot of all the cool and colorful birds visiting your pond!  Do you keep a feeder out for these pretties?

What beautiful birds!  They're the same colors as my pond lights that turn on at night!  Once in awhile, I see some birds in my stream, but nothing as colorful as those!

Thanks all, I to love that pic.
I do have to call the neighbor man on occasion to help me identify birds, like the scarlet tanager, I had never seen one before the pond.
And yes, we do feed the birds.
Love taking the camera outside with me.

Great photo.
Do you do anything special to attract the indigo bunting and scarlet tanager? I've never seen either one in real life. You say you feed the birds- do you mind if I ask what? Is it like a general mix, or something more specialized?

Wow!

I'm here in central OK...I have saucers of water every where.  Have Summer tanager, painted bunting, indigo bunting, doves, Pilated woodpecker...all sorts of birds.  Water placed so that when they visit to drink or bath they won't be subject to lurking cats seems to be the key.  Water...lots of water.

Very colorful birds.  Of the three you have there I only get the American Goldfinch here.  I noticed a variety of different birds that started appearing in my garden after I built the pond.  You are quite correct that a habitat friendly yard will attract wildlife.......including some that are not quite so welcome....

OMG what a great picture!!!! amazing to see all three at once, especially the tanger and indigo, they are a little shyer, I will occasionally see one fly by or in the lilac hedge but never close enough to get a picture.  This year I had a Rose breasted Grossbeak at the falls, but the picture again was not as nice as yours.

Wonderful picture.

We have American Goldfinches here but not in the city, just saw one a couple days ago out at the barn though. It was a rare sighting for me.

We have Western Tanagers which are yellow and red but they aren't as striking as the Scarlet ones.
