Our daughter, Mikaela, is in labor as I type this with our first grand baby. Prayers for a safe delivery and healthy baby would be much appreciated.

Just saw this....Let's see, 8:30 to 8:30!! Hmmm almost should have heard something by now. Hope things are moving along well and that she has a safe delivery.

The dr. sent her back home after being at the hospital for 5 hours. She has had steady contractions all day but wasn't progressing past a certain point. Both of our kids were born on the 20th of the month (different months) and they always thought that was kind of fun. When they were small they said they have 'The 20th Club'. I told Mikaela ages ago maybe this baby will want to be a member of their club too (her due date was Aug. 23). Looks like I may be right.

How exciting! If this baby is going to be part of the 20th club, he/she has just about 7 hours left to make his/her debut!

Well....this baby has decided it didn't like the past two days to be born on. After being at the hospital for several hours they sent Mikaela home. Her contractions had stopped and they couldn't get them started again. She said she sees a stubborn kid on the way.

Continue your prayers please, she will be having one way or another by the end of next week.

Now I/we have to wait a WHOLE WEEK?

Ok...this morning seems like the real thing. Mikaela's water broke about 4 AM and she's having hard contractions. They just dropped their dog off on the way to the hospital.

Yes it is. Since this baby chose to bypass 'The 20th Club' he/she will now join the 'Wednesday Club'. All 4 of my mom's grand kids were born on Wednesdays and now her great grandchild will be also. My mom is not alive to realize this fact but I know she would have been beaming with the novelty of that.

This baby will have a day of his/her own to celebrate (hopefully it's a Wednesday and doesn't drag on 'til Thurs!

) and I think your Mom knows and IS beaming with that novelty. She's more than likely waiting and watching with you,,,,you know you can't break a circle of love.

That made me miss my mom.... :'(

Apparently this is going to be one stubborn kid. Mikaela started contractions at 2:30AM and was moving right along till about noon, now she's once again at a standstill. The dr. said she will deliver this baby one way or another either today still or tomorrow.
BTW....Mikaela chose not to make her appearance till 22 days AFTER my due date. I think this is only fitting for her baby to make things interesting for her.

Yes, I remember remarks from our neighbors before my son was born. There were four of us expecting. They all delivered, but not me. He was only 3 days past due! Not to him of course.
