Potted bougainvillea.  I keep it in a pot to keep it under control otherwise these can become monsters.  MikeW has a beautiful wall of this plant but I imagine it is a real pain to prune and even this small one is terribly messy.


Fire Spike


Whisk Fern growing at the base of a jade plant.  Very odd plant, an epiphyte with no leaves, only stems.  The Japanese use it as a whisk broom, thus the common name.


Tecoma blooms like this the entire summer.


Spiral ginger


Rain lily.  I have a yellow variety in this same pot.

Very colorful blooms Mikey!  I love the unusual varieties you have--unusual that is for this part of the country.     I've never seen (or heard) of a whisk fern before.  Looks good underneath the jade.

Bougs are beautiful and horrible at the same time.  When I first moved to my house I planted one near my front door.  BIG Mistake!  Too much work for such a fast growing plant and the thorns!  'nightmares thinking of it!  Eventually had to stop using the front entrance to house until I hired guys to take it away, that is, after DH got attacked by the darn thing after work........

Love the whisk fern.  Love all the unusual plants you collect too!  The colors of all the blooms in your garden are so brilliant!
