My comet mutts
« on: September 14, 2010, 08:50:36 AM »
Thought I'd share some pics of my comet and sarassa mutts.  My pond is around 1500 gals and I have about 50 of the finned friends in various sizes with the biggest being around 5".  So far the bio-load is good, but there will come a time when I have to do some weeding through and re-homing.  I love all of them, so it will be a hard choice.   :-\

Nice looking pets trish!   ;)  Do they come swimming at you like a 'herd' dying to be fed?  Mine sure do now that the mornings are much cooler--and I know they aren't starving at all.   ::)

Oh yeah.  Every time I step out the back door, they come swimming up to the feeding ring with their little mouths open acting like I haven't fed them in weeks!  Truth is I feed them twice a day.  Goobers. ::)

I have lovingly referred to them as "Little Piggies with Fins."
 ;D
Gotta love them!

Thank you all.  For some reason photobucket didn't post the full sized pictures for me and I didn't have time to mess around with it to see what the problem was or what I was doing wrong.

miguynmkoi - those round bellies are my egg laden females - Big Momma being the oldest and biggest.  What a character she is too.  I have no idea how she can constantly stay so swollen with eggs and not get egg bound.  Hopefully I'll never find out either.  Here's a full sized picture of her.
