It's huge! I like the faded blue tips on white. That bud next to the opened flower is busting! Love it!

Is that a hybrid? Is it pure white or is it bluish?

If you think that your question is dumb, imagine how totally stupid you will look if you don't ask it.

It is a variety of N. gigantica. According to Perry Slocum it is the biggest flowered of the Giganteas.

Beautiful Mike...the leaves look ruffled just at the edge...very interesting. That side pic looks almost like a lotus bloom...huge!

I don't know if I will try to save that plant or not because I have two nice tubers.
Anybody want it.
Maybe I will send it to my sister near Gainsville Fl. Does anyone know if it would survive there?

Tmike I think of all your pond pics, that one is my favorite. Beautiful lilies.
I love the Albert De Lestang,
if I lived where it could winter over I'd take it is a minute.

Hey Mike,
It should most likely make it through winter in Fl.
As long as it does not go below 50 degree water for any extended period it should do fine.

I have actually lost a Lestand once or twice but they were giants and very fleshy when cold struck.
I now stop feeding them earlier to get them to harden off a bit and they come through like troopers in my zone 8 weather.
