Instead of working in the OR, I spent the day (9 hours) at the hospital as a patient yesterday in the Emergency Room with severe chest pain. The three doctors I saw said to start the 81mg low dose or baby aspirin ASAP.
Anyway, They ruled out a heart attack, blood clots in the lungs, acid reflux and gall stones but they are still concerned it is something with my heart so they are sending me for a stress test. I have my appointment with the Cardiologist tomorrow and the dreaded Stress Test.
I am clear to return to work on light duties but still not clear for full scale anything.

I will be here in the background but not active. I need some "me" time so I wish you all well. I'm here, just behind the scenes.

Sean, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers....all will be fine, I'm sure of it. The stress test will go fine, lots of us have had them and hopefully they will tell you that you need to reduce 'stress' in your life. Easier said than done, but in doing that you will avoid wear and tear on your body. Keep us posted!

Sean's new job is a most responsible one. It has to be more stressful. There are things he can do and the Drs. will tell him. We are lucky he works in a hospital and was attended to promptly.
He will be better than ever!! Some might call it a blessing in disguise.

Man, Sean, I hope the tests rule out anything serious. Hospital work can be really stressful, so hopefully all you need is some R&R.

If working in the OR at your hospital is anything like what I've heard about our hospital, its very stressful.

I did the treadmill stress test today. I did not see the Cardiologist after the Stress test. I assume if they find something troubling, they will either call me or have my GP call. For now, I am back to work on light duties.

Hey Sean:

I'm sorry to hear about the chest pains, but there a lot of things it can be. A few years ago I had a similar problem and it turned out it was too much yard work ( excessive branch and twig chipping) that made my chest muscle very sore!!! But I remember EKG, stress testing with imaging, etc. At least I got a clean bill of health. So hopefully ths will happen for you too.

Oh no, there is nothing more stress producing than thinking you are having heart induced pain!!! I want to say that they are wrong and it's nothing but again you'd probably rather know what really caused it than to hear that in the end they don't know.

My dad has almost passed out 3-4 times and they rush him to emergency, keep him in the hospital for 2-3 days, run all kinds of tests, send him home and he doesn't know anything more than before he went in.

I spoke to one of the General Surgery doc's yesterday at work and he thinks the time it took from when I was admitted in Emergency Monday to the time I had my ultrasound, I likely passed a tiny gall stone that caused all the pain yet did not show up on the scans. I feel better thinking that is what might have happened rather than still not knowing as everything else came back normal.

Guess I will just keep going as if it never happened yet I have still started to eat better and will be aiming to turn 30 Lbs of fat into muscle and loose an additional 20 Lbs

I don't think lifestyle has anything to do with Gallstones. My wife is pristine and had the surgery.

I never had Gall Stones, but my kidney stones had me crying like a baby! Hopefully that was all it was.

LOL, Sean, I knew you had Gall. Glad you got rid of it.

My dad said that when he had them, it hurt so bad he thought he was going to die and then it hurt worse and he was afraid he wouldn't.
