I know I'm too young!!!
« on: August 16, 2006, 05:06:50 PM »
Just got an email from the Director of Auxiliary Programs at the girls' school . . . they are starting a driver's ed class in a couple of weeks and he wanted to know if I wanted to enroll my older daughter . . . .I was too young for that this morning, but I have a feeling that I'm going to be going gray awfully quick now . . . .

What a shock to the system . . . .

Ouch. Teresa, your "day of reckoning" is approaching soon. This is the day when your child drives off (by herself), and you have that horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach... wondering if you've done a good job.
Time flies. :'(

I wish you well.

Yup, that is what raising kids is all about, getting them ready to leave. Best wishes.

Oh those were the days. Though my girls were both older. I believe 16 is just too young to drive.
They were 18 and 20. The 20 year old was scared like me when I was her age,but we finally made her learn. I was tired of hauling their butts everywhere. So they both learned at the same time. My hubby did all the teaching, I don't have the patience.  They are both good drivers.  :)

Been there twice, so know how you're feeling. It seems like getting to driving age is a sure sign of growing up. If we could only keep them small, huh?

Good luck, I have an idea of how you are feeling!  We have an almost 17 year old son and a 15 year old daughter.  However, we won't let our son take driving lessons until he gets a job and can help out with the car insurance, which he refuses to do.   ::)  So our 15 year old daughter may be driving first.  What a thought, our kids driving!  Please keep us updated on how it goes.

You are to young.  What did you do, have those children when you were 12?
My daughter got her  licence the day she was legal.  I was so-o-o-o glad not to have to haul her around anymore!

She's not taking Driver's Ed yet . . . maybe in the spring.

I just gave away her battery operated Barbie Jeep two days ago, it's too soon to think about a real car.

We don't have driver's ed here, but my oldest is talking about me giving her lessons already. Less than a year before she is eligible for her learner's licence.

 :o :o

Actually.. she could drop me off at work and then go to school...there's an idea @O@
