Stargrass

I think this plant is stargrass, which I aquired several years ago and thought I had lost. I did not realize that what looked like a spider lily plant was not until it bloomed today. This is the first bloom I have ever had on the plant. It is a pretty surprise.

Look up bog lily (crinum)...I'm pretty sure that's what you've got. Definitely not star grass. That looks exactly like grass and is smaller.

Mike, we call the blue form of your plant Blue-Eyed Grass. It is a species of Sisyrinchium and is actually in the iris family.

Frank yours is the an American crinium--Mike not sure what yours is--but, its pretty...I absolutely hate my star grass--it is the most finicky plant I have--I struggle with it every year...infact I'm thinking about fazing it out....I don't sell much of it and when I do the buyers tend to have trouble getting it to establish and thrive...

Thanks for the info Josh. I knew it wasn't any kind of real grass but I didn't know it was related to iris. For some reason I don' have a pic of the blue one.
They are wildflowers.

Thanks, everyone. I didn't think it was Star grass, but I do not remember ever getting American Crinum. that may be wht it is, though. I will look it up on the net.

I can't tell from the photo but could it be a Hymenocallis? Many different varieties out there. Possibly H. traubii?

Crinum and Hymenocallis appear similar at first glance, but the flowers are different. Hymenocallis flowers have a "skirt," which Crinum does not.
