My Hawaiian relatives Wedding
« on: October 19, 2010, 06:58:20 PM »
Merritt became a very handsome young man.  His California bride. Jesseca, (her spelling) is a beauty.
When Merritt and His Lovely Sister Alexa were kids they called me "Uncle Fun"!  I loved it.  We had plenty too.  His Mom is Chinese and a beauty as well.  A nice combination.  Does this make me part Chinese?

It was a BIG mistake not going. :'(
They turned out to be one of the few that send "Thank You" cards for the gift.
Good kids.

Great picture.

We are in the midst of planning a wedding.  Our oldest son is getting married next March.  It will be outdoors beside a lake.  He is a real outdoors person and insists on getting married on a lake because they spend so much time there.  The wedding gown is hanging in my spare bathroom!!!

I have noticed a sad trend about thank you cards.  A few years ago we attended several weddings and received hardly any thank you cards.  Didn't their mothers teach them manners!!!

A lakeside wedding will be nice. Only the weather is a concern.
My wife always sends thank you's no matter !

Those who fail to acknowledge are shooting themselves in the foot.  They have no idea!

I agree on the thank you note thing.  Went to two weddings last year, and didn't receive one note.  My youngest daughter was in one of those and she and another girl even purchased thank you notes for the bride!  I was disgusted (still am) and it makes me look at those people quite differently now.  Maybe in a 'truer' light...

Besides it being common courtesy what if the gift never got there?  Or the check was pilfered?

We would never know!

Funny you should mention the check being pilfered Jerry...I checked my statement to make sure it had cleared the bank--and they had cashed it.  That pissed me off even more.... >:(

They are a beautiful couple.

It was only because someone didn't get a thank you card from us that they realized the check hadn't been cashed and we then discovered that we had 25-30 cards stolen from our wedding. I was more upset that people thought we hadn't sent thank you cards then that we didn't have the checks and cards.

Beautiful couple. :)

When DH and I got married, we got so many gifts that it took us several weeks to get them opened and thank you cards written. It was a HUGE job and one I didn't particularly appreciate having to do but I knew I had to do them. It irritated me tremendously that my parents invited so many of their business connections which was the bulk of most of the gifts. Back then we didn't really have the gift registries so it was more difficult if not impossible to return or exchange items that were duplicates, etc. so many of the gifts ended up getting passed on to other family members. ::)
An acquaintance of mine had a daughter get married this summer and her mother ended up doing all the thank you notes because the daughter absolutely refused to do it. The daughter's opinion was that the people were invited to the wedding so they should just know that their presence and/or their gift is appreciated otherwise they wouldn't have been invited.  ::)

AND the privilege of attending the wedding and, if you're lucky you got an invite to the reception!  What more could a person want?   :teehee:   ?)(?
