They are so impressive. Remind me of little eagles.

While hawks might be considered beautiful by some. BEWARE if you have small
animals running around.  Makes nice meal for the hawk irregardless of your love
for your pet.  In the spring, one made a dive for my little schnauzer, talons extended!!
I flew into thing's face, yelling, flapping my arms (neighbors thought I was crazy); but
I scared it off.  Now I have two that I see circling over the field behind the house.
Have taught my puppies to go in house when I see those things too!!

I occassionally get one or two hanging around our bird feeder.  I saw one grab a squirrel from the ground, haul it up the hill a few feet and had a big lunch on that one.  I also had one come another day and here it was a young eagle.  Just not old enough for his white head.  I know they have to eat too but not my cats, dogs or other critters I feed year round.  They are very impressive though.
