I feel kind of guilty to say I haven't decorated much since the kids left home. One's 31 and one's 41. In fact, I haven't done a tree either. This year we bought a wreath for my dad's funeral and had the florist decorate it with outside stuff like pine cones, cattails, stalks of wheat, and tree fungus doodads. Instead of ribbon, he put two large silk sunflowers kinda top left and then tucked stalks of fake maroon berries here and there. I brought it home and hung it on the front of the house and now will take off the sunflowers and add in mauve silk flowers where the sunflowers were and tuck some lengths of gold pearls and a piece of that wide ribbon with wire on the sides to make a bow. I got that stuff at the Salvation Army. Cost $2.50. But the wreath was
$65!!! I about croaked but it had to be done. If I had known how much it was going to cost, I'd have made it myself. LOL.
My kids and their kids come New Year's Day so plan on moving the wreath inside for the day.
