We quit putting up a tree a number of years ago.  I miss the smell of a Douglas Fir tree.

Good idea!

I love the themed trees that highlight collections.  Ours is a combination of everything, I especially enjoy taking out the ones our boys made when they were little.  o(:-)  A lot of our ornaments tell a story.  We buy them while on vacation........Statue of Liberty, San Francisco trolley car, etc.  Great memories.

We had snow on Saturday, about seven inches!  Nine degrees this morning, so the snow will stick around for a while.

Karen, those pics are so beautiful it's ridiculous!!   o(:-)  BEAUTIFUL tree and the scenery outside is stunning too...got a bit of it ourselves...snowing and more on the way.  Might as well snow:  it's winter!   :)

Karen, what a beautiful tree and spectacular backdrop.!

I like the theme trees too.  Last year was the first year without a full size tree - miss it, but not enough to make up for the work of putting all the stuff away.  I'm late setting my Christmas decor this year but will begin tonight.   @O@

Beautiful trees! Vickie, your watergarden tree is cute and I love the tiffany style lamp next to it. I haven't seen ones with waterlilies very often.

Karen, those pics are gorgeous! Looks like a Christmas card!

My tree is just sitting there. It has the lights on it but thats it. I'm off tomorrow and Friday so I have to try to get it done. I used to do three trees every year but I just no longer have the time and energy to accomplish it. I don't know where the time goes but I used to be able to get it all done over Thanksgiving weekend but I just can't seem to accomplish that anymore. I have decorations for an all Disney tree complete with vintage Disney toys that I collected and would put underneath of it and one that was all antique and victorian ornaments. I also have stuff to do a southwest tree, a small firefighter tree and an all blue tree. Alot of it is going to go into a yard sale this spring because I just can't do it anymore. I haven't set up any of those trees for probably 5 or 6 years now.
I'm not even sure if I'm going to be able to get my Christmas village out either. :(

Everyones trees are lovely.  I don't have a decorating or a "shopping" bone in my body.  My Angels and Santas stay in a glass fronted cabinet all year round.

The 7 year old granddaughter asked me to set up the Nativity set for  her.  That is about all I've done to decorate this year.

I don't have rppm for a large tree.  I need one of those "skinny" trees.  I am never sastified with the way my tree looks.  I kinds like it this time.  I have replaced all the glass balls with the unbreakable ones.

Now Sue,...........don't tell us you can't decorate, that tree is beautiful.  I love all those bulbs, they add so much reflection and sparkle.  o(:-)

Shanna, I think you should hang on to all those decorations.  One of these days you will be retired with grandkids and will get a lot of enjoyment out of them.  You can't replace all those memories.  I'd love to see your village.

Nope, no grandkids. We didn't have kids so there is no one to hand things down to. I'm the last of the line on my side of the family. DH only has one niece and she could care less about the rest of the family. I wouldn't know her if I passed her on the street. ::)

Finally got the tree done and the village out. I don't have a good place for the village. I'll try to get some pics in the next day or so. I'm on 24 hr shift until tomorrow night so I won't be seeing home for awhile. :D

I feel kind of guilty to say I haven't decorated much since the kids left home. One's 31 and one's 41. In fact, I haven't done a tree either. This year we bought a wreath for my dad's funeral and had the florist decorate it with outside stuff like pine cones, cattails, stalks of wheat, and tree fungus doodads. Instead of ribbon, he put two large silk sunflowers kinda top left and then tucked stalks of fake maroon berries here and there. I brought it home and hung it on the front of the house and now will take off the sunflowers and add in mauve silk flowers where the sunflowers were and tuck some lengths of gold pearls and a piece of that wide ribbon with wire on the sides to make a bow. I got that stuff at the Salvation Army. Cost $2.50. But the wreath was   $65!!! I about croaked but it had to be done. If I had known how much it was going to cost, I'd have made it myself. LOL.
My kids and their kids come New Year's Day so plan on moving the wreath inside for the day.

I'm enjoying looking at all your beautiful trees.
Sadly we didn't put one up this year.

Wow those are some gorgeous trees!
karen, you have a fabulous backdrop! What a great view from that window, but all I kept thinking was what a chore it would be to clean the leaves from all those trees out of that pond!  lol

Very pretty Shanna.  I see you have a train too.

Got all of ours down over the weekend.  Son stopped by last night to help with carrying the tree to the basement.  I leave my village up until usually the last of January.  Got the living room all back in order today......everything looks so bare now.  :'(
