And the latest pic shows the back sidewalk and the bog pond layout. The patio will go where the skid is. The sidewalk will go to the boulder and the patio will be connected to it. Got to dig the bog out a few more inches to make it a little deeper, 16" instead of 12".

Wow this is soooo fabulous! You could charge admission! The wishing well is such an unexpected addition. I noticed you have a large flat stone on one of the falls, I think the lower ones, how large is it? What kind of stone is it? I am looking for a large flat one for our new falls. Do you know anything about a stone called buff tayco?

Frank, thanks for the updated pics.  I'm wiping my drool off my chin right now.  lol  I'm jealous of your big pond... Heck, jealous is an understatement.  I assume you live on acres of land so you can have a big greenhouse and pond.  How do you clean the pond?  I bet you have lots of filtration and bottom drains to help with that.

More pics please when you have fish in there.

I haven't measured the total pond length, but I think it is around 40-45 feet long, and around 18 feet wide. It is about 2 1/2 feet deep. With shelves on the side that are about a foot high.
The pond has no drains in it, but has two 4500 gph pumps. I put a sump pump in the pond to drain  it and use a shop vac to clean it.
Here are some pics ffrom today. The pond sits about 5 feet from my house so the area between the house and the pond has been made a part of the sidewalk, and the stone has been place on it and the sidewalk at the back of the lower pond. There will be a bog pond along the back sidewalk and a patio at the back side of the upper pond. I hope you can understand this, but once finished I will post more pics.

The flat stones used in the stonework is flagstone, but I do not know what kind of stone the flat boulders are. The boulders are at the back wall of the upper pond and will be part of the landscaping around the patio. Each of the large boulders weigh around a ton or more.

Oh my goodness Frank, everything about this new pond is fabulous!   o(:-)  Until I saw the photo showing the greenhouse behind the pond I had no idea how big you were going with this one.  A lot of hard work and careful planning has gone into this project!!!!  I especially like the wide waterfall on the upper pond, the water flow looks to be perfect.  The whole thing is just beautiful.

I have a gravel ("bog") filter in my much, much smaller pond and it does an excellent job keeping the water clear.

I'll be watching for the next photo installment.  Thanks for these.

Certainly not your average back yard pond, you have the WOW factor going on there. Love it. Keep the pictures coming.

Oh, so nice!  I love the falls tumbling into the lower pond.  And I love the idea of two connected ponds.... one for fish and one for lilies.
