OK,  I will.  But geez Jerry we don't have to post to be hanging in here and reading all the good stuff.

I don't have much to say.

Pond is closed.  Nothing growing out there except maybe icicles.

Happy Holidays Everyone

Having recently joined after checking out this site I am not surprised it is growing.  I have been intermitantly active on several other sites for many years and see a big differece with this site.  Several other sites I have visited through the years have become quite narrow in comparison to this one.  They have become very narrow in thier scope or thier experience level at ponding.  It has been enjoyable for me to visit here and see such a wide variety of topics openly posted and answered in such a friendly and informative way.  The diversity of info and skill levels presented here is great!

12-13 years ago was when I became interested in building a pond.  I contacted a couple of local on-line koi chapters asking them some basic questions for guidance.  I could feel their contempt and disdain when I said I wanted plants in the pond.  Both of the people I contacted were not at all encouraging and were in fact koi elitists.  I have no issue with folks who want to raise prize winning show koi but the people I contacted early on were just plain snooty.  At that time there were not many pond sites for just the ordinary every-day ponder.

Thanks Michiponder, it is nice to hear!  We do have many super members that are generous with information.

Mikey, no elitists here, and if there are they control themselves.

an example:
I took a friend fishing he was a beginner, my regular fishing pal came too.  he was so disdainful of the beginner it really upset Dave.  it was 40 years ago and Dave still brings it up. It  obviously hurt
.
Odd too Because my elite pal is a good guy and had no clue.  of course we were young then and not as diplomatic as we are today.

Yeah, we're a friendly and down to Earth bunch, and some of us have become quite close over the years.

What's cool is, you can ask just about ANY question, and there will be SOMEone who knows the answer, or who will tell you where to find it.

So ask away!

Oh, and remember to post pictures!!  8-)~
