cleaned my filter pads
« on: April 16, 2011, 02:26:22 PM »
It must be close to 2 years. What an ugly mess.  I use the commercial floor scrubbing pads.

I think I got the shower dirty! {nono}
 The photo is accurate, but it is not my Skippy

Looks like mine.  I flushed them with pond water, filled it up 10 times and flushed the edges with the hose.

Cindy, I really don't know if there is a right way.  I lay the scrubbers on a wire rack and use a hi pressure nozzle on them
Drain the tank first. Use the hose in the tank as well.  Flush the drains!
I then re open the knife valve and turn on the pump.  in a few minutes it's filled and the waterfall is flowing!

Oh yeah a shower quickly!  Yuk!

For lack of mother nature likeing us this year, it's still way to cold to mess around in the water or even near the water. >:(-
I'm just happier outside!

sand and gravel homemade here with an air system. Just hit it with air then open a valve to drain the floating junk. Do this 3 or four times and done (10 minutes). Never take anything out and never use tap water.

I ended up pulling each pad out and rinsing. My air pump (2 air stones) quit, have a new one ordered.  Extra air makes the good bacteria happy.
