one seems like Boston Ivy (none near by) the other a moss under the falls.

I have found that CA is the only state where Poison Ivy does NOT grow

Whoa! As soon as I saw that ivy, I scrolled down to post! It looks like poison ivy to me. I'd have to use gloves and then take them off immediately and get them washed. I am too allergic to that noxious weed to wear gloves with the oil on them.
That mossy stuff looks like string algae with azolla on top. Remember the post where someone did that? I tried it and that's what mine looked like, especially if it gets spray from the waterfall to keep it moist. Looks great!

But California is one of the few states that real Poison Oak does grow. I am not sure about that plant though I have never seen real Boston Ivy

I used Round-Up on it. Yes very careful.
I had a case of poison ivy as a teen. Never will forget! It was everywhere!

There was a woman on Garden Web some years back that cultivated poison ivy because she did not know what it was. When it was positively identified, a ROFLMAO was at hand.

That's what I thought too when I saw the pic, poison ivy. Even if it doesn't grow in CA, could it have been a small hitch hiker for a bird from some where else, or even in a box of plants you may have gotten.
I'm glad you used round up on it.
I've had that moss show up too around my falls, reminds me of a loofa sponge.

Jerry, did you happen to show an experienced plant person? Those leaves look familiar too but I thought they were vines similar to the grape vines.

Looks similar to those vines they plant and allow to crawl up walls alongside the freeway.
