Mosaic Plant
« on: June 05, 2011, 02:54:49 PM »
I was thrilled to find a start of this plant at a local watergardening nursery yesterday. Off to a good start!

Oh wow, I'm surprised by the color of it.  Do they stay yellow with red fringes or they change color later on?  I really like it and looks like it could help shade the pond if they grow fast and fish don't eat them.

It's actually green with red tips. I took the first photo with my cell phone camera with a glare. Here's a better photo taken with a "real camera" today! :)

I've seen this plant at the nursery and love it but I don't have room in my ponds where my fish would leave it alone.  It's a great addition to your huge new pond.

And here's a photo of a mature plant that we saw at Longwood Gardens last summer. Love that place!

Your photos are all so pretty!

I have had a coupla starts of mosaic plant, but they never seem to take.  I have learned to keep them away from the koi, and probably the goldfish, too.  Still, the last one I got a few weeks back seems to have disappeared.

Thanks for sharing all your pics.
