Finally convinced DH!
« on: June 20, 2011, 06:30:21 PM »
I think I finally convinced DH to build a waterfall coming down the hill!   @O@  I've been trying to convince him for the last 6 years.

this picture is the top of the hill (the dark part by the tree stump, not the huge mountain behind it (although that would be REALLY cool)

this shows the bottom part of the water fall would be.  I want it to end by the banana tree, on top of the wall.

this picture shows the full view of where it would be.  The tree is gone now.

That would look really great. One question though. Does your existing pond have enough capacity to support a waterfall/stream of this size?

think it would be awesome to but wanted to add I have waterfall on a steep hill also.  I first did the straight down falls and could not contain the splash in my pond.  I then went back and excavated alot of the dirt out to make flat "beds   before and after each fall to help contain the water/spash.... cant wait to see what ya do!

Tinkster makes a good point. Your waterlilies won't like a lot of water crashing into their pond. If you can arrange it, let the falls "splash down" into a basin of some sort, then let that have a nice, easy flow into the pond.
