Although I love blues and purples, I love the last white lily, it's so perfect!  Why do you suppose the pad grew out like that?

I've had the fauxLeopardess lily for 7-8 years now, The first time it's had an abnormal pad. Why did Tugo's lily form a triple flower. May be one of the profs or pros can answer. The white lily is N. odorata. I dug that from a ditch one Sunday afternoon at the golf course I was a member of at the time. The ditch was channalized the next day. Some times the hybridizers have a hard time beating nature.

What luck!  I guess I must really like this lily.  Yours is not the only one I've admired from photos.  I use to have one but it did not like me  :P

The question is; if,
-The Nature has no borders, or
-Is the Nature too much disturbed by humans.

Thanks for the interesting pics,magoo.

Homo sapiens are a part of Nature. The struggle most humans go through for food and shelter is more important to them than Nature. An unfortunate reality.

Hi Magoo, I've had a few pads like that in the past. On a hardy. I don't know the reason, but I suspected too much fertilizer, since I hadn't done anything but that. Maybe it hits a root or something and whacks out the pads? Hope someone knows why. I haven't had it in a while, but they don't put out that many when they do it.

That IS an odd pad  ?)(?

I like the Rachel Presnell bloom pics. Its even prettier against the background of its dark red pads. I did not know about this lily before until I saw pics of  its red pads in another thread.  Somewhere I saw another pic of its white moptop bloom and admired that one too ( I don't usually go for white blooms but this one would be an exception) but did not put the pads and the bloom together as the same plant until this pic.  Its a really nice combination.
My next female cat will be called "Whata Lily"!
