I have a couple 6 pks Buds (and willing to share)
« on: June 30, 2011, 09:25:19 AM »

and a couple of flower girls   ;D

Actually I was fertilizing the plants in the "big" tank and pinching back the pads cause I had about 90% coverage or more.  Some of the stems on the Pink Ribbon were approx 4' long.  This causes the pads to float away from the pot and leave bare places.  I place my Arc En Ceil pots touching the Pink Ribbon pots to give the appearance of "fuller" plants.  I like the looks of the pink blooms with the varigated pads also.  One pad is nearly all pink.

The pads I pinched

and NOW

First tropical blooms of the season...unknown

Wow look at all those buds!  Your pond looks great.  How much coverage by pads do you like?  90% too much?  I may have to get outside to do some pinching!

I try to maintain 60% to 75% coverage.  More than that and there isn't any room to feed and watch the fish.

For me, it is just easier to clean up things while I fertilize.  The dead and dying blooms and pads make the water "yucky" also.

I have noticed the larger spread on Pink Ribbon. Good idea about putting another plant to fill in!!

Great photos -- love your containers.

I really like your use of the old-fashioned stock tank! Very nicely done.
