Well, the rest of the Summer didn't get us anywhere on the pond. We spent anther MONTH in the hospital. Matt needed 2 more surgeries and I stayed there almost every day and night with him. He finally came home and now I have been in bed for a week with severe bronchitis. What a waste of time  . My lilies finally are taking off and getting huge blooms now that the end of the season is a mere days away. Didn't get the waterfall finished, or the pond edges.
Don't mind me, I'm just venting. i know you guys understand my frustration.

Kathy, so sorry to hear that you are sick.     Hope you get to feeling better soon.  I'm glad to hear that Matt is well enough to come home.  Vent away, we are here for you.     Venting sometimes helps because someone is listening.  I know I'm.    Your lilies will be there for you.  The waterfall will get done next year.  So are the pond edges.  The most important thing right now is to get you and Matt healthy.  Focus on this and other stuff are not that important.  At least not right now.  Next year you guys can get the waterfall finish up and make the pond pretty.  Your lilies will be there waiting for you.

If I would have known I was going to have this much trouble, I probably wouldn't have attempted it at all. We are still enjoying it even though it doesn't look so good. We may see if Matt's Dad can come over next weekend and help Doug and I a bit, at least get it cleaned up and "ready" for next spring. It will be cold here soon.

Esther, it's very long and involved,we were there for a month total, but I'll try to give a rundown quickly. Matt went to ER on Aug 8, he was having a bowel obstruction. They thought it was the huge surgical hernia causing it, so they went in a couple days later to fix the hernia. Found a tumor in the area that was stuck to the abdominal wall. That is what was causing the obstruction. Couldn't take it out because he had been on chemo to recently and wouldn't heal properly, so they had to wait. Finally got home a week later, home for 3 days and it starts to happen again, back to ER. Kept him in hospital on IV food until they could do the needed surgery. When they did, tumor was much larger than anticipated. Also found cancer in other spots. Couldn't remove it all.  We have to hope that chemo will keep it at bay. See the Oncologist this Tuesday for a plan, what we need is a miracle.

  Still fighting the bronchitis, on my second round of antibiotics, but getting better. The weather is much better this week too and I think that will help. Matt is getting stronger and feeling better. He will be starting chemo again the end of the month. He was messing around trying to figure out what we are going to with the waterfall and found 2 more leaks! He patched the holes and we will see if it ends up dry.
On a good note, we are going to Portland oregon in a couple weeks to visit his Sister and his Mom is meeting us there too.
