Terse mail thanks to Linkden
« on: December 12, 2011, 11:49:06 AM »
I have never sent an invitation, apparantly they do like mad.  Linkden has been a royal pain.
I have changed options, but I think opting out may be the only way.
Any thoughts?

Are you talking about Linked In?  Never heard of Linkden, not sure if that's a Jerryism or a real site!  haha

I've never had an issue with LinkedIn.com... Sure, I get emails regarding those I've connected with, but that hasn't been half as bad as some other professional sites I mistakenly joined - one of the absolute WORST is jobs.com!  I signed up just to apply for a position (that turned out to be bogus) and within 5 minutes I was spammed 6 times by them or their affiliates!  I actually called the web site owner and told him to remove me from their list, and got four more spams from them offering half price to rejoin!!  I never paid, but you have to pay if you want your resume posted, I opted out.
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.

Yes Michael my error. I have had many nasty mails over the invites that I NEVER sent.
I did opt out yesterday.  Today I got an invite from  ME!

Wow, that's weird.  I've sent out a couple invites but haven't ever heard from anyone that they didn't like it.  I sent one to you because I thought you sent one to me (through an email that isn't registered with LinkedIn)

I have gotten a couple from people that I couldn't understand why, but then I realized they were connected to people I was connected with.  But in all honesty, I really only get updates from people I connected to, and not spammed.  Your situation has me baffled....

there are settings that can help. I did make changes, but too late.  I had it over a year before it became an awuful problem.  if I had been more computer astute, it might not have been so bad.
I mentioned this on facebook and got lots agreeing.

Just like Facebook - valuable means of keeping in touch, but sure eats up a lot of time.

Speaking of eating up a lot of time, here I go for the third time tonight, having to copy, back up, and then repost my message.  PITA
