Pond Supplies in Phoenix/Tempe area?
« on: January 01, 2012, 09:14:25 PM »
Hey y'all, I am trying to find where to get supplies in the Phx/Tempe area. I moved to Tempe yesterday and left my old pond in Texas, but brought my turtle. I need to get a new pond up and running for him. Any local people with excess plants to spare? (He eats/tears them so I always need more.) And, where's a good place to buy a stock tank?
My pond is a turtle pond!

2006: ~135 gallons of water in a 150 gallon stock tank.
2012: ~250 gallons in a 330 gallon stock tank
2013: ~40 gallon in-ground wading pool for my box turtle

One RES, and a passel of gambusias.

You moved on New Year's?!

Home Depot stores usually have pond pumps, and other things like liners.  And there are tons of on-line places where you can get just about anything, and quickly, too.

I think we have another AP member in Phoenix, so maybe he'll pop up and name some local sources.

Even Phoenix should have a "farm" store on the outskirts of town.  Google is a good friend after a long distance move.

Well, yeah! We left TX on 12/30, spent the night with friends in El Paso, then drove to this Valley on 12/31. We got here in time to grab some groceries, unload the car, and kiss at midnight :)

Phoenix is a big town.  There are plenty!  See above.

If I needed pond supplies, that would be great. But I brought my pump and my filter with me. I just need a stock tank (it has to be a stock tank, because we are renting here so I'm not digging into the ground.)

Thanks for the link, dbayou, I contacted them and plan to go to their next meeting!

There was a member here who lived in Mesa and who also posted on the Garden Web Arizona Gardening forum, her handle was azreno. Not sure if she is still around. She had plants.

There was a Tom who lived in Tempe that I visited once but he hasn't been active in many years.
