memorial service for Matt
« on: March 28, 2012, 07:22:00 PM »
Monday night we lost Matt to the cancer that had been raging through his body for so long. Our only peace is that he is no longer suffering.
We will be having a memorial service on Saturday, since he wanted his body donated for cancer research, he will not be in attendance.
It will be a casual event so anyone who would like to come, please dress however you are comfortable. Here's the info:

Saturday March 31 @ 5:00pm - 8:30pm

King's Cove Condo's Club House
1131 Brookside Ct
Rochester Hills, Mi

King's Cove is off Tienken rd, between Rochester Rd and Livernois.

Kathy,
My heart breaks for you and your kids. I wish I could give you an actual hug.  :'(
I am in awe of Matt's decision to donate his body for cancer research. I hope it lightens your pain just knowing that his unselfish act will help others in the future.
Hugs!

Kathy,
Like Cath, it just feels so inadequate to try and comfort you through a post on the internet--a hug, a touch, a look seems so much more appropriate.  I am so sorry for your family's loss of Matt and wish only the best for you and your kids.  He fought a good fight.

I know Cath and LuAnn has expressed what we all feel so very well.  You and your family are in my prayers.  Matt's journey has now brought him to a better place.  Be well dear one.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear of Matt's passing.  I would like to attend the memorial since I am so close but I don't think that I will be able to.  Please keep in touch and let me know if there's anything that I can do.  Hugs to you & the kids and my sincere sympathy.

Kathy, words fail to express how sad I'm to hear of Matt's passing.   :( :'(  It was so selfless of him to donate his body for the cancer research to help others in the future.  He is now in a better place and pain free.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kathy, so sorry for you all. We are making arrangements for the dog so that we can come and spend the night and drive home on Sunday morning. And "NO" I don't mean at your house. LOL. We'll get a motel.

Oh, Kathy, I am so sorry.  I am glad he was able to get into Hospice, and I hope they made the final days a little more bearable.  Seems like it all happened pretty fast....

Hugs.

Thanks everyone and a special thanks to Esther and Pete for coming all that way to see us at the memorial. It was a nice tribute t a great man. The building was packed wall to wall with people who loved and respected him.
At the end we all wrote messages on tags we attached to white light up balloons we released while Doug played Let it Be on his Dad's guitar and we all sang.

Kathy, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  The service sounded wonderful...Monday evening I saw something reflecting light in the northern sky...might have been one of you balloons!!!  A very loving tribute to a very loved man.
Deb

Know I've been away for a while, but visited the site today and saw this thread.  Had to post, because I truly did wonder what I was seeing Monday evening.
