canopy over the pond

This, as well as getting rid of 3 Eucalyptus citradora's (80 footers) has kept a lot of debris out of the pond. Certainly has made herons think twice.

Looks great!

Kind of hard to tell, but it looks like the ends are open. If herons do get brave and walk in, I suppose you could put a curtain of the same netting up on the ends. Should be able to rig it so it could completely open just like a window curtain. Probably would only have to cover the bottom half of the opening, at that.

Didn't mean just the net system looked great, so does the rest of the scenery!

It is funny that when you are very close to something you can't see it.  All I seem to see is what I did wrong!

Very odd.

I think it's charming and very well thought out and planted: and the heck with what other people say!!   O0

Thanks :) I really loove it! And my backyard is very very tiny. So I hope to have a bigger backyard if I ever move from here.

Your pond is great, skarol.  People say things like that because:

-they think they're cute and they don't realize it's really hurtful

-they are jealous because they don't have the gumption to take on building or caring for a pond themselves.

FYI, in Austin, TX, where there is a lot of rocky soil on the west side of town, most of their ponds are above-ground, like yours.
