Is anyone interested in Ornamental Grasses? Done for 2013
« on: May 07, 2012, 11:31:34 AM »
Too big to ship at this point, thanks all.

I have some divisions available of several ornamental grasses.
It is still early here so they have more roots than foliage and are easier to ship than when the foliage is fully out.

I would sell for $5 each plus actual shipping. I'll have to pack and weigh before I can give shipping quote and do have flat rate boxes for larger shipments. I have a scale and ship Priority with tracking. PayPal only please.

The divisions are all bigger than a 4" pot, most would need a gallon or bigger.  All are well behaved, smaller ornamental grasses. The carex and the Stipa seed for me but very few babies. I have read that the Stipa seeds badly in So CA. Jerry would know, I sent him one years ago.

Plants are being removed from the list as they are sold.

I have:
4-Pennisetum 'Karley Rose' pink flowering fountain grass mature size approx 3' tall & wide

4-Miscanthus sinensis 'Morning Light' variegated maiden grass 3-4' tall 2' wide

12-Carex, ever bronze/brown no name seedlings 1' tall & wide

2-Stipa (Nassella)  tenuissima Mexican Feather Grass 18" tall and 12" wide

I'm selling this year instead of trading as there isn't much at all that I need or want in the way of plants but my list of horsey needs is long.  {:-P;;

The only plants I need for trades are Helvola and Walter Pagels. I have no idea why the raccoons always rip mine out but they do. They don't touch Joann Pring in the same pond but they've pulled up and ate at least six Hevolas.

All the previous pics are mature plants in my garden. The last two pics are examples of the actual divsions I'm selling. Most are warm season grasses and just starting to grow so they aren't very impressive. Carex is evergreen so doesn't need chopping back every year.

This is the same pot of fountain grass two months after the first photo was taken. The photo below it showing mostly chopped off brown stems is what I will be shipping. This photo is one I used for Craig's List last summer. They don't ship well when they are that mature.

The Mexican Feather Grasses are actually bigger than this now, but this gives an example, the message from Lawanna wanting both is from last year. I do have two new ones. Really does not seed much for me.

Oh, LeeAnn, I have not look at this site in a while.  Life has been very busy and work has been ever changing.  I would love you forever if I could get 3 cutting of the "all gold" grass if it is available.

Yes, Myra I have three left. I just updated today. I have a long work day tomorrow and Friday too but I'll try to get a weight to you for shipping quote by Saturday morning. My post office is open until 4.00 on Saturday and you should then get mon or tues or I could wait until monday, whichever you prefer. I'll set three aside though. You'll love them.

Myra, we are going to want to go with the Medium Flat Rate box for sure. Each grass weighs two pounds as they have big rootballs. I sent you a Money Request from PayPal to the email you gave me last year. I still have your street address unless you have moved...

I got your shipment.  And all was great as always.  I had just been looking at this plant on a plant site. I had rather buy plants from you.  Thanks this was great timing.

Glad they arrived safely. Give them some shade and lots of water the first summer.
