Chicago Bears news item
« on: January 28, 2007, 09:07:49 AM »
Chicago (AP) -- Chicago Bears football practice was delayed nearly two hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach Lovie Smith immediately suspended practice while police and federal investigators were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.

I don't know much about football and less about that team or how they are performing. I just thought that it was   funny.

As a Colts fan, I got that e-mail several times today!

I don't follow the Bears, but from what I heard, Coach Smith is a man of great character, but I am going to cheer for the hometown team and Coach Dungy!!!

LOL!  I have a huge Bears fan on my mom's board, so I posted it for her, she hasn't seen it yet.  So far one person read it, and thought it was a serious news report.   lol

I've never been much of a football fan, or a fan of any sport that didn't produce food for that matter.  My father suggested I go out for football in highschool, but my feet and ankles could not stand up to the pressure so I had to drop out, much to my dad's disappointment.  You see, my father was 6' 4"  and was 240-250 pounds  most  of his life.  I, on the other hand, took after my maternal grandfather, and at 5" 11" only weiged 135 in high school.  Dad, on the other hand, played scholarship football for Auburn in the 1920's and later for George Hallis, Chicago Bears.

Wife and I will be attending a barbeque superbowl party next week along with a thousand others.  Guess who I'll be rooting for...

I was a big Rams fan until they left for St. Louis. Broke my heart at the time. :'(  now it seems so silly that I cared that much.  Sundays was Ram football time.  I go back to Crazy Legs and Deacon Dan, Waterfield and Van Brocklin.  Can you imagine one team having two quaterbacks of the caliber of Waterfield & Van Brocklin?  I can't.
LA Has no pro football team and  many feel like I do, we have plenty to do in So, Cal instead of tying up our Sundays with football.
UCLA & USC are plenty. o(:-)
