Sammy the Squirrel

This is Sammy the Squirrel. He was playing dead on the deck railing this morning! Not moving at all, nose down on the railing, tail bent in half, eyes half open, dead. By the time I ran down to the kitchen window, he had turned around facing the opposite direction but in the same exact position. I happened to have some squirrel food left over from last winter, and threw it onto the deck floor - that got Sammy in action.

That's a great picture!  I know they can be a nuisance, but I really enjoy having them around.  My brother feeds peanuts to his by hand.  He also walks in a neighborhood park with peanuts in his pockets and the squirrels following him begging..........it's so funny!

Love him. We have finally managed to make it so our squirrels can't access the bird feeder. But I do have a piece of chain hanging down with a threaded large hook on it. I screw the hook into the end of an ear of corn. Mr Squirrel can just reach it but then it swings away and he has an awful time getting it to hold still so he can pick the kernals off.

That is a fair sized squirrel. He must be a frequent visitor
