Tired and Stinky
« on: July 06, 2012, 11:19:38 AM »
:D ;D :D   I spent six hours this morning vacumming still ponds, doing water changes and trimming pads and spent blooms.  I'm so glad that is done for another week or ten days.  I had nearly 100%  surface coverage and no gas exchange was happening.  It is a really a good thing that I have air pumps in these tanks.   o(

I took the camera out while the last tank was filling and took some pics...please remember that I have no photo skills whatsoever, but my bloomers are doing so good.  I switched to a once a year aquatic spike this summer and even after reducing my number of tubers per pot and pots per tank, I still have as many blooms as I had before.

Welcome to Redneck junction where temps are hot and the grass is dry
{:-P;;   :D  the tanks (I didn't put away any junk for the pics...what you see is what is usually there   :-\

 >:(-  I'm having trouble with photobucket   >:(-

Colorado...eight is enough   @O@  Unlucky thirteen

Perry's Baby Red...peek a boo

Texas Dawn

Arc-en-Ceil with Pink Ribbon

Unknown tropical...I measured, these pads are twelve inches from tip to top.

Suppose to be Mayla

The only lilies not blooming this morning are King of Siam and Perry's Orange Sunset...both have numberous buds underwater.
All the other lilies are unknown so I didn't post individual pics of them.

Wow, your lilies are beautiful Sue!  It's messy but fun work or we wouldn't do it would we?  I mean the chance to be out in this heat, messing in stinky ponds,,well...but look at your reward!

I try and do yard stuff early and then I'm done until the sun goes down.  Heat index here of 110 and the same for tomorrow.  It's not fit to even be outside.

Gorgeous blooms Sue!

I can't really say that I have gotten tired for quite a while because it is too darned hot to stay out long enough to get tired.............but I sure get stinky quick.

Our high was 106 again yesterday and today.  Same thing last week 106 on Thursday and Friday.  It's been over 100 eight out of the last nine days and I am sick of it.

I always enjoy the distant views in your pictures.  We are surrounded by woods, which I like, but sometimes I think it would be great to live somewhere where I could see more sky.

That's pretty impressive on the blooms with only a single fertilizer spike for the year. It is that Jobes tomato spike that others keep refering to?

Tired and stinky can be good!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't put things away. Spend a day really cleaning up around the garden, then take a few pics, and hoses, shovels, bags of fert. end up being front and centre.
Healthy, happy looking lilies.

Cheers,

Mike

Always nice to see how your lilies & tanks are doing.  Beautiful blooms.

The yellows in the second tank?

Actually, that is three different unknown lilies.  I bought two from different people and I really believe the third is a cross between those two.
