Perry D arrived now what? I've been a lotus killer since 2000 and stopped trying to grow them after two years. Ten years later today I received a full plant from Lotus Express Plants even though they are only whole sellers he sold one to me   

I floated the plant but poured some sand on it so that it touches the course sand below.

Is this a good plan? Any advise? Please

 Go to this thread link on one of the other forums that the grower has been discussing the Lotus Express.  It is a long thread but somewhere on page 2,   they discuss how to pot it up and plant it and other stuff.

I just set my lotus express plants on top of the soil in some large pots. Mine were "potted" (really just dropped in) four weeks ago and have buds. Good luck!
