Wonder why all clearance plants are tagless :)

I know the one is a banana but googling brings up several that looks like it... guess I will treat it a non hardy.  Its already looking much better in the few days I have had it, it just needed water and it has 4 pups in the pop.  The other plant I wish I had not bought, it has already cut my hand many times.  Is it a pictcher plant that could be put in the bog?  was my thinking when I bought it but it dont seem to happy there so I took it out.

Hi Tink, Not sure on the banana variety, but the 2nd one is a bromeliad. A Neoregelia most likely. It likes dry feet, semi shade, not full sun. Just water in the center. There is probably a lot of info online about it. You can pot the bromeliad in cactus soil, or any other fast draining mix. They really don't even care if they are in soil. You could just mount it on something, but be sure to keep water in the 'cup'. (center)

I've seen nice displays of clumps of Bromelaids under oak trees or bamboo in Leus Gardens.  I've got the oak trees and bamboo now...just need to find the bromelaids.  I did not realize their leaves were that sharp that they cut you?
My next female cat will be called "Whata Lily"!

That Bromelaid is beautiful.  That doesn't look like my hardy Banana's, so I'm no help there.

Great finds! The banana may be a Roho banana. Your bromeliad is beautiful as well.

I'm fine Tink.  Just working full time, etc.  I don't have much fun time anymore.

Can you take the bromeliad in the house for the winter?

I havent even thought about that.  I know nothing about them and how hard they are to overwinter.  If they are finicky I would rather give her to someone here thats weather is better for it.  GLad to hear from you by the way!

The banana looks like my Musa Rojo and if so, it isn't hardy here. I'm nearly in zone 8.  :)
