First tropical lily bud has broke the water surface
« on: July 08, 2012, 07:19:30 AM »
Can't wait until it opens up now.  I took some pics this morning to see how fast it grows today.  It's the night blooming Trudy Slocum.  I see a second bud well on it's way up to the surface too.

The first two pics are the lily bud at 9:00 this morning.  The second two are the bud at 8:00 tonight.  Didn't take it long to shoot out of the water.  I'm hoping it'll be open by the time I get home from work tomorrow.

You were right, this pretty flower was waiting for me when I went out for my morning coffee yesterday before work and again this morning.  Another fat bud is well on it's way to the surface too.

That's why I'm so enamoured with the night blooming tropicals.  You get to see the blooms before you go to work and after you get home from work too.  If they could develop a night blooming hardy, I'd love that.
