Hi Mikey,
Nice to hear from you, I'm a little nervous, as I do not have him yet and I always think that something will happen.
I'll post another pic on Tues night after I get him home.
He is comming from southern IL in my cousins truck.

He's absolutely gorgeous!  What a face!!!

I'd suggest you name him after me, but my name wouldn't work for a boy.

I absolutely  o(:-) Maine Coons!!!!!!!!!  I had a Maine Coon mix and I think they make the best pets.  I've actually been keeping my eye out for another one to adopt.  I'm so jealous, he is such a good looking boy!  I can't wait to see more pictures.

Teresa,
You always ask the tough questions don't you?  :)
He was given to a humane society in southern IL, where my cousins wife works. She knew that I wanted one, so she got a hold of me and now they are moving back up here to wi on tues. I'll go to there house and pick him up in the aft.

Bart, I'm hoping that he will be a big beast, but ya never know. He's only a couple years old now.
And he's probably a mutt anyways, but I could care less.
I'm letting my grandkids and kids give me some names to choose from.

My mind is in control of me and once it decided that it wanted a maine coon cat, there was nothing that I could do to stop it. I'm just sitting back watching this happen.

My son, who is now in college and won't be home for the summer is no longer a consideration, (he is allergic) and my daughter who had a hampster, (now deceased) is also no longer a factor.
And Ruby will love his new buddy. He is also thinking that this cat food thing sounds real good to him.  :)

Thanks everyone,

Steve

So I am very pumped to get him home.

What a darling Maine Coon!!  He looks just like my Simba Joe!  o(:-)  Our cats all have 2 names:  Pudge Ellen, Thumbalina Nightengale, Simba Joe, and those are just the inside ones...the outside ones all have 2 names also!  They have such good dispositions, I've only heard Simba hiss once in his live, and he is long-suffering when it comes to the new kitten.  Congratulations on your new adoption 8)

Oh, he's good looking.  He reminds me of my Mickey.  If when he was a kitten and I would have known that he would have that fuzzy mane, and the M on his forehead.  His name would have been Mufossa (sp) from Lion King.  About the only thing different from my Mickey is your's has white.  Good luck with him.

I have fallen in love with the Maine Coons also but I have 4 cats in the house since my DD moved back home. The last thing I need is another cat.
He is so cute, I envy you both.  @O@

Teresa,
You always ask the tough questions don't you?  :)

Try to!

He's absolutely gorgeous.  I love that lion's mane thing he has going on . . .

I now have two Maine Coons . . . a purebred female and a halfbreed male.  The male is gigantic and has that lion's mane thing going on.  The female is small, but has the perfectly square muzzle that's so typical of the breed.  They both have that little chirping meow.  And most of all they are both full of personality and incredibly playful and kittenish, so it's rarely dull around this house.

You might wanna wait a week or so before you name him . . . we named the male Billy when we got him, but his name has transformed to Bully because it fits his personality better . . . . .

I am very excited to see him. I'm making some venison barley soup to bring to my cousins tomorrow when I help him unload the truck and move in and see the beast!!!!
It will be delicious!!!

It's funny how the simpler things in life bring the most happiness.

I got him home this evening. He sat on my lap with Ruby on my other side. Neither one seemed to care much, but were very interested in each other. He was hiding at my cousins house from the trip from southern IL. in a 24' truck, so when he came home here I couldn't take a picture and cause him to freak out any more. He is in my spare bedroom with his litter, food and water. And of course I gave him some fresh bluegill.  :)
His fur is incredibly thick. I'll get a pic when the time seems right.

Me too, can't wait to see him in his new digs!  My maine coon is a playful troublemaker, it's hard to stay mad at him.  He's so good natured though, and he does talk a lot.  He has a favorite toy he takes everywhere with him, making the strangest noise like he's just killed a mouse. :D
