Went to Scoi this morn. Surgery looks good, perfect she said.
I pointed out
Edema on rt. lower leg. She had me get a " Doppler. Edema can mean CLOT!
Problem was it was a holiday weekend. . Through Facey we tracked one down at
Holy Cross. Had to do this through the ER !
The
Dr took an x ray and the Doppler. The good news is NO clots. Clots are common after surgery.
The x ray showed a hairline fracture ,he was NOT certain. No pain and can walk with no walker. I even drove. My dream of a hot shower is on hold. We spent three hours at
Holy Cross!
I will see my Orthopedist who may say " you have no hairline fracture!" I bet he does!

It was a hard day for my bride. Cold as hell at the ER too.

A hard day. But
No clot is a very big deal
I think i will sleep well, a lot more comfortable

They said I am weeks away from using the stairs. No way! I have a billion dollar bride in a 5,000.00 bed. When she was done with her bath she fond a man in her bed!! Yes me!

I got to teach a therapist and a Nurse how to tell the difference between an oral and rectal thermometer!!
Lu Ann you should know. 10 cents for the first correct answer !!

The rectal has a round bulb type end and the oral has a pointy end

OK...I googled...

Most anal thermometers have a red tip or mark, to remind you that they are anal thermometers. Most oral thermometers have a blue tip or mark.

Hahaha, Jerry, to me they are ALL oral thermometers! Technology being what it is today, nobody needs to have their temperature taken rectally. That's not professional--I'm just sayin'.

Easy to be jocular when it doesn't hurt!
I got a survey form from Valley Pres. Boy did I have scathing replies. Mainly the staff did not like each other and it showed.
The survey went to a firm in Indiana! They really don't care. Or don'want to know the answers.
I have been in hospitals and even wrote thank you letters.

I am lot better, been walking a lot ,doing the exercises. Water therapy begins Tuesday!

The survey probably went to an independent company who compiles the results of the surveys. That way, bad reviews don't get 'lost'

It sounds like you are doing wonderfully! Are you still using pain meds? My mom in law's doctor always kept her on a low dose of pain medication so that she could better tolerate the physical therapy.

No pain pills except for an occasional Advil. Only a few at the hospital. They really screw me up.
I will spare you the details.
My wife is loaded with outdoor chores. She cannot do it all. We will lose some plants, others like Cirus will suffer.
I bought a pretty good " grabber" tool. I can pick up the newspapers jut fine. Lifting is tough. I found out lifting a water pitcher.
Sleep is good especially in the early morning hours. Delicious!

No access for a few days. Back and okay. Seeme a bit of improvement every day, sometimes two.
Had a good nights sleep last night. My first. It will stay that way too!
Had the computer whiz here today as well as the plumber. A busy morning.
Yes Annette, her Hands are full. She cannot do it all, but grateful for what she can.
Now that the garden is neglected we are picking cuckes and zucchini daily. A few lonely tomatoes too.

I keep getting told I was brave to undertake the surgery. it was elective.
NO WAY Brave. I had 2 choices.
1. Walk like an old man forever was one.
2. Go for the surgery and hopefully will be as I was.
It was an easy decision, yes scary too. Each day is better, even if ever so slight.
