Happy spring. Almost pond season in wisconsin.
I am thinking about my skippy filter,  need to replace the media this year and wondering what you use.
Share your ideas please, and thanks in advance.

When Lowes gets in their fern plants they are covered with netting.  I've been lucky enough to be there a couple of times when I've been able to get it from their trash & take it home to use in my skippy style filters.  I also use the net bath scrubbies when I find them for a cheap price.  Some people use plastic strap strips.

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

I use the blue evaporative cooler pad materials found at the box stores.  I was lucky enough to buy some in a roll this year.  Cut to size and use the scraps as another layer.

I use the green tulle? they sell at Joanne's fabric...  The stuff they use for slips and such.  Like 100 yards of it..  It goes on sale pretty often.  I have pictures of it on my photobucket album below.
