this is Inca Gold, a prolific cultivar.

This isn't even the photo I had in mind, but it will do...still learning Windows 7 ugh!

Beautiful!  Do you trim yours to keep them compact with blooms?

I have not..but... I made a wrong turn last week and there were a few pruned into trees , multiple trunks and all! Looked fantastic.   The photo is old, they are much bigger now .  I will take a few pix, now that I seem to have learned, at last, how to send.
Annette spent Memorial Day at
Alleso viejo country club BBQ  thought of you when we saw the Lake Forrest signs.

I am in good enough shape to have a pond party in the very near future.
Pot luck for sure!

Not ALL are prolific bloomers. The cuttings were sent to me by former?  Member John Johns.
"We" lost John when we dropped a difficult member >:(- it was a difficult decision.

I have written to John  many times, but no reply. He was a super guy and member.
Like me, he is no kid and may have passed.  I hope not.

If any of you are friends with John , we would love to have him back. o(:-)

Jerry!  :(  Next time stop by for a hug at least!

I think I will trim my Salmon white color brug to a more stately manor....I drove by its mother a few weeks ago and she looks marvelous...If I remember correctly she gets very trimmed.  ;D

That's a great one Annette! I wonder if they are as prolific of bloomers as the yellows?

Hey Sean, sorry for snail reply....My pinkish salmon color brugs are not as prolific as Jerry's yellow ones.  They flower nicely in rounds all Spring Summer and early Fall here.

My only problem that I never hear from other brug owners is the yellowing of the leaves and their dropping off.  Sometimes it seems the plant is so full of leaves and next so scrawny looking.  I have a potted double white that seems to be struggling this year....what to do :(

Annette, leaf drop during times of drought, flood, heat or cold is absolutely normal for brugs  ;D People just don't post pictures when they do that  lol I pull the leaves off when mine get ratty looking and they grow back quickly. You're doing nothing wrong, it's just the way they are. Some times they are perfect and then weather happens.
Pam

Thanks Pam!  Sometimes it seems like they need water and other times there's too much water....ratty is the perfect description, unfortunately.
