Cold Frame
« on: October 09, 2013, 05:56:35 AM »
I have read that there are some people using cold frames to keep their tropical water lilies alive during the winter. I would love to hear from anyone who's tried and succeeded or failed at that attempt, and exactly what they did in their set up.

It would be interesting to know which cultivars made it through the winter alive and which ones went dormant and which ones completely rotted and died.

I haven't tried it yet but that's the plan for this winter. I'm zone 8 and know a lady nearby who covers her tropical lily tanks all winter and is able to overwinter hers. I am going to plant all of mine in the bottom of an acrylic aquarium that I'm placing inside the cold frame.
