It ain't much but I love it!
« on: February 25, 2007, 05:37:48 PM »

This is my pond started in August. It is very simple in construction, a hole dug in sandy soil and lined with railroad ties and liner.
I would have liked a beach area but the soil is too loose and I settled for an itty bitty plant shelf where those pesky goldfish are making whoopie. (Last count 30 from the original seven) Anyone know of birth control measures?
The ugly thing in the background is my filter soon to be half buried. The uv has worked a treat and the water is finally clear after only 10 days.
Cheers Carole.

Your pond is just beautiful. I agree, don't underestimate your ability. You did a great job.
Where abouts are you located?

Lucky it is not my pond....I would put about 20 lilies in there. I thought I saw somewhere that you were from down under. If so I would definitely be looking to get some Winch lilies and native Aussies to fill that space in no time flat.

Very nice!  Where did the rock come from?  I like the rusty color of the rock.

That is absolutely gorgeous.  Wish mine looked like that, and this will be my 3rd season with it.  I've got to plant some things I don't have to dig up every year.  It looks good during the summer, but then I dig up the bananas, elephant ears and canna's and its all naked and ugly again.

That is what I'd like to have in our backyard but way too rooty and the dirt is awful.
