« on: February 25, 2007, 05:54:51 PM »

Part of my collection of succulents. Every year my granddaughters and I pot up about 300 cuttings to sell for charity. They have a ball and it is so easy. Succulents are very popular here as much of Australia is under water restrictions and low water use plants are very popular right now. Last year we raised  $A950 for our sponsored children in Kenya and Nepal just doing what we love...growing stuff!

Very nice collection.  I enjoy succulents.  I have a couple of those that I recognize.  What's the name of the one with the frilly leaves in the back row, 2nd one in from the right?

Sorry Mikey but that would be 'the big frilly one". ::) I really don't know the botanical names but I would guess it is a kind of echeveria. I love succulents too, started keeping them when I was a little girl and still love them  o(:-) Kinda like dogs, they still love you no matter what you do to them!

Makes me want to get some more, but this time in pots.
I think that the pots asdd a lot to the plants.
I have a distant cousin that lives in Binningup in the southwest corner overlooking the ocean.

Thanks,
Steve

Jerry Skippy is in Australia.

Carole I love succulents too. Here in the SI they do very well. I have a few of the ones I see you have and a couple more that I don't see. So easy to divide too.

Great collection, I can only grow them indoors year round, with the exception of a few hardy sedums outside.  Inside I have 2 Jades that stand a good 3' this year one of them even flowered for me, I was so thrilled

Thanks, for the size of the plants I was surprised how small and delicate the flowers were.
