I got a new baby tonight (pic)
« on: February 26, 2007, 10:47:11 PM »
Every since two years ago when I got my boy Pug, I wanted a girl.  I called and called and the little girls would already be gone.  I've done this for at least the past year.  Well, I didn't get a Sunday newspaper  and decided to pull it up online.  Sure enough, there was one ad for Pugs and had a girl listed.  So, I asked dh to call.  This was at 7 pm monday night.

We asked the lady if it would be to late to come see her tonight and where she was located.  They said about an hour from Louisville  I thought that wasn't too bad.  (yeah right, maybe the way a crow flies....it took two hours one way).  The guy who gave us directions told us the wrong exit...and I just knew about 5 minutes onto the road it wasn't right.  Good thing for cell phones.  The lady had us call one of her friends because she didn't even know the exit.  Geee don't know what ya live...lol  I didn't mind the long drive to get her, just if I would have known I would have waited till tomorrow and got an earlier start.  My daughter slept on the way back, she's be tired in the morning.     We left the house at 7:15, stopped and got gas.  Got home about 12:30.  We had to stop and get her a water bottle.

But we have our Wednesday to go with our Pugsley now.  She's so tiny and sweet and so spoiled by the breeder.  The lady has them drinking from water bottles instead of bowls, so they don't get their nose wet.  Then she said she likes her face wiped after she eats, that she will come over and stick her head up until you do it.  Funny.  I'm so tickeled to have her.

Oh, yeah she's 7 weeks old and she's spunky.

What a little princess!! Did you name her? And now that you have a girl, do you plan on breeding her?

Oh my, that is just the cutest face!! Thanks for making my day happy. I will definitely have smiles all day because I have this adorable little face in my head now. Pugsley is a cutie as well.
What does Pugsley think of her?

Thanks everyone....she's so different from Pugsley when he was a puppy.  Think I'll have my hands full with her.  She's so full of life, Pugs was shy and timid took him awhile, Not her.

As soon as Pugsley saw her last night, his tail was a flying.  But he was a little to fiesty for her yet.  Probably in a couple weeks it will be better when shes just a little bigger.  He doesn't mean to be rough, he's just so much bigger.

Esther.....right now its a maybe breeding her.  That was our intentions when I first wanted a girl, but I'm not so sure about it now.  I won't have her spayed right away, leave myself time to think about it.  Pugley is the only animal I have that has not been altered.  Its usually the first thing I do when they're big enough.  I'm just leaving my door open on this for now.

Oh, and her name is Wednesday.  Pugsley and Wednesday....not that I'm a big fan of the show I did like it growing up.  But just thought the two names went cute together.  My neighbor has two poodles named winnie and pooh.  Her mother's name is Karen's Sunday Daisy, so I think I'll make her's Kim's Lily Wednesday for her registered name.

Cath....I'm glad it made your day.

Cindi.....I've had her out most of the day, fed her took her out.  That took awhile, but it finally happened.  Then she played some more.  I put her in her crate to rest, and she's whinning.  I want so bad to go get her back out, but I know I can't...

My daughter wasn't as had to get up as I thought this morning.  I said Kassidy Wednesday is crying, she went right in there and got her.  They they both layed on the couch...I just sent in a note saying it was a longer road trip than thought.  Didn't want them to call home thinking she was sick or something.....I'd say, no just tired.

You may have already tried this Kim, but just in case you haven't......to stop Wednesday from crying when she is in her crate put a blanket over it.  It worked like a charm for me.
Puppies grow up so fast so enjoy every minute and take lots of pics!!  At least Wednesday is going to stay small.   :)

I think its funny, my son that's holding her.  He's the one that said I don't want another dog to take out, and he woke up and came and saw her and couldn't stand it until he held her.

Today when he got in from school, he said can I take her outside.  Can I do this, can I do that...I think its funny.  His twin, likes her too but hasn't gone crazy like Justin has.

They're really good dogs.  Some are more couch potatoes that others.  They are great with kids.  If you pull up and read about them, most every article says something like....there alot of dog in a small package.

Kay and Kim.. I better not go there........ {:-P;;
All I can say is my DH would NEVER tell me that I could not have a dog! {nono}

After our American Eskimo Holly died several years ago, I swore no more animals in the house and it stayed that way. (we would occasionally bring our Fatty cat inside but no litter box, etc..)

Now our house is a ZOO.......
We now have in the house:
Our 15 year old American Eskimo mix, Spike
1 1/2 year old Labx, Smokey
8 mths old Kitty, Phoebe

And my brother from FL is currently living with us...  He brought along hisTerrier Mix Dog, his Cat and a Bird !! ;D

Bonnie, that sounds alot like my house.

Three cats, 1 lab, 1 pug 2 yrs old, 1 puppy pug, and fish tanks.  Had a bird once upon a time.  But this is it, no more.....unless we breed the pugs.  But then I don't plan to keep them.  Wish I had a bigger house and more land.  (I'd be in trouble)  Two street over from me are more of farm lands, there are horses, cows, sheep...etc.

Well thank God this is a temporary situation until my brother gets his life straightened out and back on his feet again.

Unfortunately my 15 year old, Spike is grumpy so I have to watch him very close around Rainey (the terrier mix)
We got a baby gate to keep them seperate when we can't keep an eye on them.
And Poor Bailey, my Brothers 4 year old cat!    Phoebe (8mths) won't leave him alone, always wanting to play!

OOOH, I forgot the aquarium full of fish!  Even though they don't bark, shed, or wake me up in the middle of the night to go potty!

I think we live in Noah's Ark.  ;D  2 tortoises (they live in the greenhouse), 2 parrots, 2 Australian Shepards, 2 firebelly toads, 2 small lizards, and one nasty, antisocial white's treefrog. Umm..2 longfin koi and a few Wakins with babies outside.. It gets to be a bit much sometimes but they do get along so that's a plus.

She went to the Vet tonight for her first check up with us, and got her started on her shots.  She's great except for a inguinal hernia.  They said it might heal on its own if not, they will fix it when she gets bigger.  Or IF we breed her, it would have to be fixed before.

My twin boys had inguinal herinas, and I pulled it up for dogs its the same as for humans.  Its not that uncommon.  She'll be just fine.  Its a simple little fix.

Oh, we use to have an Iguana.  That thing didn't like me at all.  My dh and I we separated for a little bit about 6 years ago.  He left it here, I tried to go feed it one day and it jumped almost all the way out of the tank at me.  Darn near got my hand.  I put the lid back on, and went up the road to a near by pet shop.  I knew a girl that dearly loved them.  I asked her if she would like to have him, and she came and gave him a home.

Then we had an Amazon Mexican Redhead Parrot,  that's what dh's family called it.  It was old and had been around.  He was cool, he talked.  Then his parents divorced and his dad ended up with it.  When we got married he wanted us to have it, just as long as his mother didn't get it.  Well, when my boys were born so premie, and with lung problems and such.  I didn't have time to mess with him much so I did let dh mom take him.  It was her bird from the begining.  I just told dh's dad, look you all don't want him and we just can't have him.  Its not that we don't want him.  Our boys health comes first.  He didn't say anything after that.  When their house caught fire the bird was at their pet shop.  When the pet shop caught fire it was at home.  Talk about luck.  Dh had a naughty brother from what I understand.  He's prob 40+ now and is still bad.

We use to have a Jenday Conure a few years back.

Ponds are like patato chips, ya just can't have one.
