Floating pot plants
« on: July 26, 2014, 11:08:43 AM »
My mom bought me 2 floating pots for my pond. What plants would be good to grow in them?

Almost any kind of water plant should work well in the floating pots.  I've only made my own floating pots but I root the plants in the pot without soil (almost like aquaponics (?)).  Besides the floating duckweed I'm raising as a snack for my fishies and turtles I have stuck in "elephant ears", baby lily tubers, irises plus more.  Almost like a floating nursery.  Sometimes I tie the plant to the basket for sturdier stand.

Enjoy your nice gifts!
