First Lily Pad of Season!
« on: April 04, 2016, 07:29:25 PM »
Hi:

I was surprised to see this lily pad from Little Sue already making an appearance especially since this is the shadiest tank.  (This is also a test post since I got an error message for my attempt to respond to the "Side kicks" post.)

I've had a few pads up for a couple of weeks now.  Earlier than normal for sure, but probably due to the fact that we had a very mild winter.  I don't think we ever got down in the single digits all winter.

I started up my waterfall/filtration system about two weeks ago.  Water is still somewhat pea-soup green.

But I saw one lily pad about 4" below the surface.  Too bad we're in a near-record cold snap.  Only 40 degrees today - average high in January.  This coming SAT night:  predicted record low.  Craposis . . .

Congratulations, Redberry. There are lots of floating pads here, but I think it was because we had about 10 warm days in a row. Since then we have been up and down ever since.  :(

We were 10* on Sunday March  20th and had about 6" of snow Easter morning.   We were 88* this afternoon.  Weather has been all over the place here this spring.

Wow, Sue! Hard to believe you have had colder weather in Texas than we have had here in Tennessee! Sure glad we have not been that cold recently. We have been down to 34* a few weeks ago, but it has been a while since we were down into the 20s. even.
