there are 2 !  I fished one out today. I need no more turtles but hate seeing them killed by mature ones.
I now have 2 in a protected container on the patio. DP what the best food for them?

No more taking them in the house, what a pain that became. I will if it gets real hot. Don't want turtle soup

Go to the pet shop and get some Reptomin.  It's a floating stick food that contains everything they need.  The should have one type that is made for baby turtles (much smaller pieces), but if they don't get the regular Reptomin and just break in in smaller pieces.  As it sits in the water, it will soften.

Foster and Smith     http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=6437   They also like a piece of dark green lettuce, such as Romaine.  NO iceberg lettuce.  Nothing nutritious in it.

And don't regret saving the little fellas; it's never a mistake to save one of God's cutest creatures.  The best way to keep a young turtle inside is to keep them in an aquarium made for turtles.  They are like a regular aquarium but for one end only having glass half-way up to accommodate an outside hanging filter.  They have a floating basking area, a heat lamp and a UVB lamp.  I sometimes have more than 20 at a time in an aquarium for a year before I release them.  Mine are painted turtles that can be released to the wild as they are indigenous to this area.  When people give me RES, I take them to my brother's pond in Monterey, Tennessee.

I don't regret DP. Reptomin in the morning. Romaine already. I have huge landscape changed. I don't do the work as did.   I do x amount and sit for awhile..  That's why I shirk more responsibilities.
I do miss water plants, but not ready to give my RES away.

Getting old isn't for sissies! >:(-
