Our New Patio Set...
« on: March 25, 2007, 08:29:24 AM »
Our old table got blown over in the Fall Windstorms we had and the glass top shattered.
So yesterday, I finally broke down and bought this set at BJ's Wholesale Club...
We saw it over a month ago, then shopped around, couldn't beat the price, especially with 6 chairs.
Solid Teak, brass hardware, lazy susan in the middle of the table.

Came in 2 boxes, assembly was easy, put together in less than an hour. 8)
Peace to all  ... Joyce

Congratulations!
That is as nice as it gets. You have great taste.
I love things made out of wood, and that is gorgeous O0
I hate plastic, in particular PVC.

Ooooh, I like it.  Looks very comfy and relaxing.  Now to break it in with a cook out.

Joyce that is really nice. It sure won't shatter if it gets blown over. And the teak should last forever.

Steve, how could you say something like that about PVC? I'm hurt.

Sorry Esther,
But It's a personal thing with me, things made with oil products such as plastic and pvc are not my cup of tea.
You do make some very useful things. I would just prefer them made of wood or iron.

As soon as Teresa, EagleEye and the rest of you get here...the party starts! @O@

Esther, does PVC come in black?
Cuz if I could make some black PVC underwater pond stuff...I just might.

Here is my teak set in the late afternoon,
after we put all the little teflon feet on the bottom of all the legs.

Gonna move the cast iron Chiminea out this week, so we can sit back, stay warm and watch the fire.

Check out the temp on that thermometer! :)
Peace to all  ... Joyce

That's just beautiful, and hard to believe that you had it together in under an hour!! AWESOME!   :o  We might have it together really fast, but something will be left off where we have to take it apart and start over again   lol

Luanne, really, this left no room for error, and gave extra parts that you know you might need more of in the future, such as the little wooden pegs that you put in the holes to cover up the brass hardware  (sometimes those pegs end up falling out and getting lost, blown away, sucked up by  the lawnmower, etc). All the tools you need were included. Really well done 'idiot proof', mostly pictorial 'diagram' instructions, any man could understand at a glance, you know, like men usually do before tossing them aside.  ::)

I think the company is owned and run by women. O0  (8:-) :2thumbs: :-)~

No I don't believe it comes in black. There is a gray that I think is used for electrical conduit maybe but they don't have gray fittings.

As for underwater, if you wanted to spray paint it, that would work maybe. But as you saw on my pictures, it soon gets gunky green anyway. Plus the lily pads are soon covering the surface and people don't notice the plant stands. The new laundry tub skimmer/filter that I just put in, is white and I never thought about the color but like I said, it will soon be gunky anyway so I'm not going to worry about it.

Oh very nice Joyce. Don't know what it is about patio furniture, but pound for pound, I swear it is the most expensive item in the universe! A good deal is required.

Very classy looking set.

That's awesome Joyce, cuz I when I buy something I like to be able to put it together myself, or at least assist.  But usually I leave the room because DH gets short-tempered when he has to take something apart and redo it because HE FORGOT TO READ THE DIRECTIONS >:(-    Tools, extra parts, pictoral directions....hmmm, DOES sound like a "chick" thing @O@

Joyce,
ABS plastic comes black, but I'm not sure if you get the variety of elbows, splicers, "T"'s etc. that you get with white PVC,
