Specificallly, I'd like to see how much crown you leave up out of the pea gravel.

I think I might have buried mine too deep in pea gravel.   :(

Thanks   O0

I can't remember the names but this looks like the type of lily that grows from the top, vs the other type that grows sideways.  The ones i repotted are sideways, Lilypons, Gonnere and Colorado.  I'm just wodnering if I need to lay them somewhat angled in the pot so the growth portion is above the pea gravel.  Right now they're laying horizontal, so it's hard to keep the pea gravel off the growth end.

Does any of this make sense?   :-\

Slackjeep, I plant my hardies at a bit of an angle so the crown is up out of the soil and the cut end is against the edge of the pot.

Mine have put on so many new pads since potting them. Can't wait to see the blooms. Will be splitting the hardies tomorrow.

I got in the (cold) pond this weekend and dug up the noses of the plants so they are above the pea gravel.  All 3 of them are putting out leaves now.

I doubt they'll bloom though as they are in shade, waiting patiently for mom and dad to finish the big pond.   :-\
