her.o.noid (har'e-noid') An un-fortunately not rare enough paranoia experienced by water garden owners who have experienced loss of aquatic life due to the stilt legged predator, the Great Blue Heron. Disorder may be marked loss of sleep, white the affected patient plots the GBH demise, and how to keep the BGH away from his/her "babies". The patient may also be driven by the urge to look out the windows at every opportunity to make sure the the GBH isn't there. Treatment available through advice from other water gardening addicts or perhaps just building a bigger, deeper pond so that this predator cannot reach your fish.

Cindi lives near a swamp and watches bunches of them flying over. Talk about paranoid!! Gotta train those dogs to be bird dogs.

No I didn't think it up. I received a news letter from my local pond store and that was in it. Thought you'd all understand.

We should start a thread on what measures people have taken to scare away the herons. Might be funny.

And true, I go out every morning and count the fish, they are sitting ducks right now, swimming close to the surface to soak up the sun.  We have several protected marshlands near us and see them flying over daily when they are here, have not see one yet, and also have yet to get the pond netted for the year.
