Trout Lily Erythronium americanum, albeit out of focus.

View of the "Secret Garden", with creeping phlox in foreground

Wild Columbine in full bloom.

Wild red Honeysuckle.

The groundcover, Mazus reptans.

Rhododendron canescens, or Wild azalea.

English wood Hyacinth, Scilla campanulata.

Wood Poppy, Stylophorum diphyllum front, Virginia Bluebells, Mertensia virginica rear.

Brunnera.

The Helleborus is about done.

Loropetalum chinense.

Dicentra spectibilis, Bleeding Heart.

The fragrant Carolina Jasmine.

Beautiful, Johns, just beautiful. So much blooming already.
My mom lives just below you, in Fort Mill, and she keeps telling me what is blooming down there, already. Makes me sick! Things have just started here!

Lovely plants and flowers!

I have always loved mazus and grew it on the beach for the first several years I had the pond . . . . gorgeous when it bloomed and draped into the water.

And sweet shrub- one of my favorite plants - I have always loved the smell of that when in bloom.  I looked for years for one when I moved into this house.  Nobody knew what I was talking about.  Wish I could take a nice deep wiff of those flowers . . . .

I love the woody, leafiness of it!  I love unsculptured gardens like that, the neatly manicured ones are undoubtedly beautiful, but would make me too nervous to try and keep them that way  :D

KyKim,

The angel statue is "Angel of Grief” Monument from Design Toscano http://www.designtoscano.com/jump.jsp?itemType=PRODUCT&itemID=333
I placed this statue in our Secret Garden as a surprise memorial to my wife's mother who passed away in 2001.  The original monument on which this is based is After the 1894 original by William Wetmore Story, in the Protestant Cemetery, Rome.

I bought something very similar at Meijers tonight.  She's small, resin and solar, I know...solar stinks.  I can care less if she has any light about her, I just like the little statue.  I would rather have the one in the link you posted.  Maybe one day, but till then......

I read the article about him, very interesting.

Just beautiful, I really feel like I just strolled through the Botanical Gardens.  I love the natural theme in the gardens.

How lovely to wake up, turn on the computer and and take a quiet beautiful tour without leaving my house.

Perhaps when I visit my nephew and family in Charlotte you'll let me peek at your gardens.  Hope it's when your Angel Trumpets are in bloom.  :)

Kim she is lovely. I have to do a lot of improvising in my gardens too cuz what I want is out of my budget. Mostly tho I use old things. Antique pots and kettles, I have an antique trike, stuff like that.
I'm just happier outside!
