Split the lily's
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:28:30 AM »
Besides Mike's piece we got:
three more cuttings from the Colorado
three from the Red Attraction
four from the white one.

New ones include one blue from SheilaJ and a yellow ....from Lowe's. I have five plants to box and get ready to ship out for tomorrow. Not to bad for one season.

Your pond looks great Jen! I really like the marble chips you have around it too. What's that stuff growing from the whiskey barrel? And is that the new mini pond I see in the background?

That would be Crystal Confetti. Yes that is the little pond which will house a Red Attraction and Colorado but now has cuttings that I have to mail out in it to. Potted a fern on top with Scarlet Tukana on the mound. Behind the main pond now is that barrel of CC, white lantana, barberry, Petite Diascia around the above ground tub which has an umbrella palm and two lily's planted in it. The foot tub has creeping jenny planted.

All my pond photos are here: http://jensrealm.net/photos/thumbnails.php?album=2

DH put in a flower bed and made a frame for it...you'll have to see it.

That 'mother plant' still looks poised to grow huge again this year. You just gotta admire that.

Cheers,

Mike

Yes and I thank you. You know I really want a lotus but after tackling those repots this weekend and all of that cutting I just don't know. I need to read more on them and see if it will work for me. Lord, those plants of ours will grow.

I'm really excited about the Lotus I got from Lawanna and John! They seem to have slowed down in my colder weather but still look good!

I don't really have anymore room by the ponds to put a lotus but could put one on the other side of the yard. I think I'm going to go ahead and order one and give it a whirl.

All my lotus are still sitting in the basement pond, didn't get them potted up when I wanted, and now it's snowing out again, but just lightly, going to be in the 30's daytime and 20's-teens night time the rest of the week, looks like next tues may be nicer.  GAJen, the lilies look so nice, love the new little pond.
